GET STARTED

The 10:2 Project is a tool for pastors to use to equip their people to PRAY, INVITE, and SHARE their story for the sake of the Kingdom. Over the course of 12 weeks, people will commit to 3 tasks:

  • At 10:02 am or 10:02 pm, pause and pray for leaders to be sent and for the lost to be saved. We do this at 10:02 because Jesus said in Luke 10:2 that “the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Therefore PRAY EARNESTLY to the Lord…”

  • The goal for each participant is to invite 10 people who do not regularly go to a Sunday gathering to attend with them over the course of the 12 week Project. Even if the person chooses not to attend, the invitation was sent out, and we can pray that God sows the seed.

  • The goal for each participant is to share their faith story (or testimony) with 2 people over the course of the 12 week Project. This is an intentional gospel conversation had between the participant and someone who is not walking with the Lord.

Frequently asked questions

When do you start?

The 10:2 Project begins on October 2 of each year and runs for 12 weeks, finishing up on Christmas Day.

We begin the Project with an all-church prayer and worship night and end with a celebration filled with testimonies during the Project at the next Sunday’s gathering.

How do I get started?

  1. Cast the vision to your team, core leaders, and congregation. You need everyone on board!

  2. Create a visual aid — this is important! It helps build momentum throughout the Project.

  3. Print stickers and invite cards to be used during the Project.

  4. Begin collecting commitments through an online form.

  5. Launch the 10:2 Project with a prayer and worship night!

How do I keep momentum going?

Everyone starts out strong with the intent to keep praying, inviting, and sharing over the course of 12 weeks, but you’ll need to keep them excited and disciplined throughout the Project! Some ideas are:

  • Create a group chat or email thread

  • Send out daily or weekly blog posts or emails with encouragements

  • Send updates of the visual tracker on social media to inspire those involved

  • Share testimonies throughout the Project

  • Hold one another accountable!

How do you create the visual aid tracker?

There are lots of ways to do so, such as a printed poster board or building foam letters. Our suggestion is something large that catches the eye and that you can put stickers on.

As the Project continues, participants will use stickers to track if they prayed at 10:02 each day that week, if they invited anyone to church, and if they shared their story.

The visual tracker helps encourage everyone throughout the Project!

How much does it cost?

The 10:2 Project is a budget friendly tool to help engage your community! There can be room for creativity in how you implement certain aspects of the Project, so the cost can vary. If desired, you could do it for absolutely free!

The out-of-pocket costs are:

  • Visual tracker (see below for ideas)

  • Stickers for visual tracker

  • Swag items (optional)

  • Evangelism tracts or tools (optional)

What should I do as the Pastor?

You should definitely participate along with your people! Pray, invite, and share your story with your friends, family, and neighbors!

Alongside that, each Sunday that the Project is going, make sure to clearly present the gospel in each sermon. Anticipate that there will be visitors that are hearing the gospel for the first time!

Allow for a time of response for visitors to pray with a pastor or leader.
